Still paying too much in mobile phone charges? Wouldn’t you enjoy calling France, Singapore or other countries at low, local per-minute rates? How would you like the freedom to chat with your MSN or Google Talk buddies on your mobile phone – everywhere you go, exchanging text messages for free?

Nimbuzz, the innovative technology company founded by two Dutch mobile veterans Evert Jaap Lugt, CEO, and Martin Smink,COO, today announced the launch of its patented technology making all of this possible. Its free, worldwide mobile phone and PC messaging service lets users communicate more effectively through their own, existing mobile phone service. This service helps users avoid enormous international roaming fees. The company is funded by Mangrove Capital Partners based in Luxembourg, a company that received worldwide attention when it provided the first venture capital to Skype, one of today’s leading, global VoIP providers.

MSN and Google Talk on your Mobile
Nimbuzz, a small software application easily installed on your existing mobile phone, lets you chat for free across all mobile data plans with Instant Messenger buddies from large communities like Microsoft’s MSN. “ With more than 200 million MSN users worldwide, we expect to reach millions of users that want to chat more effectively over their mobile phone” states Evert Jaap Lugt, CEO of Nimbuzz.com. Aside from the ability to access MSN and Google Talk, Nimbuzz is slated to introduce Yahoo! Messenger and AIM access in the coming months.

Global Calls at Low, Local Rates
In addition to its current mobile phone chat and text messaging capability, a significant technological advancement, Nimbuzz is introducing additional services in the near future, making global, mobile voice calls possible at low, local rates. Using Nimbuzz Voice, you’ll never have to change your SIM card, buy credits, WiFi or UMTS access. Nimbuzz Voice works on a basic, minimal GPRS data connection to unite mobile phone callers worldwide. Watch for the introduction of Nimbuzz Voice in beta this October. “ What Skype offers the personal computer, Nimbuzz offers the mobile phone, ” explains Smink.

How It Works
The Nimbuzz patented technology lets users call other users simply by clicking their nickname in their Nimbuzz chat client buddy list. With this request, a local GSM connection is established with one of the company’s domestic access numbers. Then the call is converted to a VOIP connection with the other party through one of the company’s central switches located in Amsterdam, New York or Hong Kong.

Nimbuzz Voice will work from mobile-to-mobile, from mobile-to-PC and from PC-to-mobile, giving users the freedom to verbally chat with buddies across the same technology platform. Initial Nimbuzz Voice introduction will service Nimbuzz Chat users, followed by Google Talk and Skype.

Nimbuzz, an innovative company aiming to change the face of mobile communications, today announced an investment of $10 million into the company. Mangrove Capital Partners, MIH Group and Holtzbrinck Ventures have all participated in the financing. Founded in 2006, Nimbuzz provides the tools to connect the 2.2 billion global users of mobile devices with the 1.1 billion global Internet users in real time and for free. The application supports multi-directional voice, presence and messaging between mobile devices and PC’s.
