Host of HBO’s Sex Inspectors Launches the “YouTube” of Sex and Dating Advice

Imagine if YouTube only accepted videos from people ranting or asking questions about sex, dating and relationships. And they were answered by everyday people, not experts. That’s when the idea for Blabbermash came, where users can rant, ask questions and get advice from other people.
“Through my columns, books and TV appearances, I’ve fielded thousands of questions from people all over the country,” said Blabbermash’s founder, Mike Alvear. “I feel guilty that I can only answer a few each week, so I built a space where users can rant, ask questions and get advice from other people. It’s pretty clear that there’s a world of people on the Internet who either just want to get something off their chest or have questions that don’t need an expert’s answer- they’re just looking to hear from someone who’s not emotionally involved, and who’s been there.”
About the Founder: He’s the co-host of the HBO series, The Sex Inspectors. A regular on Fox’s The Morning Show with Mike & Juliet, Mike Alvear has appeared on The Today Show, Tyra, and The Greg Behrendt Show. Marie Claire magazine recently profiled his work in their July 2007 issue.
