Openfilm – Next Generation Video Sharing Community for Emerging Filmmakers

Openfilm.com is a brand new community and video sharing site for serious filmmakers and those who seek the best videos on the web. It will feature a library of premium video content as well as a host of social networking tools. The company is pioneering a next generation online video site by combining the best aspects of video sharing (user uploads, social networking, ratings, etc.) with the content selection, high video quality and rich presentation style of commercial video-on-demand sites.
“Web video has become a mainstream industry, but viewers and filmmakers are still looking for an online destination to watch, upload and share only original and quality user-generated content. Openfilm is striving to provide the best viewer experience as well as to be very filmmaker-friendly”, said Timothy Pastushkin, chief executive officer of Openfilm. “Openfilm gives content creators the ability to showcase their work in the way it was intended to be seen, in high quality.”
Openfilm is building a library of original videos from its rapidly growing user base, along with its own collection of web video series, produced at the company’s Miami-based studio. Openfilm is also partnering with film schools and film festivals to provide content. The site offers 50/50 ad revenue sharing to all contributors.
The site is in private beta mode, but pre-registration is now open for all content creators to join and upload their original video and animation to the site. All registered members who upload videos accepted by Openfilm are given advance access to the private beta site. Early contributors benefit by having a greater presence on the site at the time of the public launch.
Founded in 2007 by a team of young entrepreneurs with industry experience, Openfilm is rapidly evolving into the “go to” place for the best video content on the web. Members of Openfilm team produced films and television programs for networks like NBC, MTV, TLC and others.
