Just wanted to let you about some new features released last night by Docstoc. Their new set of private document tools are the easiest way to store and share your private documents. With the new document activity log, guest book, and download protection, you now have ultimate control over your private documents.

Docstoc’s Private Document feature allows you to track who views, downloads, and emails your documents. Private documents cannot be accessed by the community at-large. Only people with whom you share an encoded private document link with may access the document.

• Document Activity Log: For any private documents you share, easily track who views, downloads and emails your documents.
• Document Guest book: Anyone with whom you share your private document link signs a document guest book upon visit. It’s a great way to track if your file actually made it or was even viewed by the recipient.
• Ultimate Document Protection: Want to share a Word or PowerPoint file without giving away the actual source file? Upload your document and mark it copyright, now your document can be viewed but not downloaded.

To create a new private document, visit the upload page and select the “private” checkbox, or use Docstoc OneClick. You can also mark documents private directly from your profile page. Simply click the profile tab at the top of any page, locate the file in your document listings and click the private checkbox.
