TreeShare - Create and Visualize Your Own Social Networks

Treeshare, the online destination that’s rethinking social networking. Opting for an open-ended system, Treeshare allows its users to build and share their own networks as well as to collaborate together on wiki-style groups.
The center-piece of Treeshare is the Tree. Each user and group is assigned one Tree each. Thinking of a real tree, each one starts off with the trunk. From here one can add branches to the trunk, add branches to the sub branches and so on. How a user visualizing a Tree interacts with a branch is up-to the owner of that Tree.
The flow from one branch to the next is seem-less and continuous as long as the links keep coming. So the vastness of the Treeshare social network is limited only by the amount of user contribution.
While navigating through the Tree above (by clicking on the circles), if one clicks on “Drawing” under the “Hobbies” branch, users can actually see the artwork right there along with some text and image captions. This is one way to interact with a branch; another is to turn a branch into a Hyperlink so that when a user clicks on it, a window opens with a specified URL. From here, it’s easy to imagine clicking on a branch and a song or video opening up on the spot with more resources becoming available in the future.

The wiki-style groups present unique opportunities for collaboration on a single Tree. Every user can add a new group or edit a group they’ve joined; every aspect of a group is open for editing, from its Tree to its profile. Users can even broadcast-message each other real-time in the group’s “Lounge” area, much like a chat-room.
To deter any questionable activity, each group has a “News” section where any and every change made by a user is recorded and displayed to all members of the group. This feature can serve both as a deterrent as well as a way to track the group’s history. Also, the undo/redo capacity along with the capacity to flag users helps to manage unwanted changes.
Finally, users can add Treelinks to a branch to link to any other branch of any Tree on Treeshare. All this comes together to give tremendous networking-power to you; being an open-ended project, it’s completely up to you what path it takes. Build and explore the Treeshare world and see where the links take you!
