Get Your Ad on TV with Google

Small business owners should find this news interesting – “Google has signed a deal with NBC Universal” to offer ads on a number of cable channels. The really interesting part is that local markets will be addressed.
It should be pretty easy for small businesses to get ads on TV this way, because as you can see on Google’s TV Ads page, you can manage these simply through an AdWords account.

So far the channels that will be available for this are: MSNBC, CNBC, Sci-Fi, Oxygen, Sleuth, and Chiller, but the companies said more may be added later. If they add just plain NBC into the mix, then that’s going to be a huge audience, and not limited to cable.
Since launch, Google TV Ads has been improving and evolving with valuable input from advertisers and agencies. Advertisers have found Google’s platform and premium Dish Network inventory to be useful in driving more relevant, efficient, and measurable TV advertising. Google TV Ads has enabled a range of advertisers, from direct response businesses like FragranceNet.com to brand advertises such as Lenovo to buy more efficient, accountable and measurable national television advertising.
“In NBCU, we’ve found another partner that shares Google’s commitment to innovation, research and the power of technology. With valuable feedback from advertisers, agencies and inventory partners, we’ve continued to evolve and strengthen the Google TV Ads platform. Together with our partners, we are committed to developing a robust television ad network for advertisers.” said by Neha Mandal & Jesse Haines for Google TV Ads.
Google already has a similar partnership with DirecTV by the way, and has attempted to strike deals with other major providers.
