Hope this will make a solid change with DMOZ service. The first thing I would love if BOTW buy DMOZ is, they can speed up their approval on a site.

I realise that such a tip is not necessarily a ‘basic’ one, but it is a very important one

I have been trying to get listing in DMOZ for a long time and found that they do not have enough editors.

I hope this deal will improve that situation. Thanks for sharing - interesting!

interesting blog indeed…

type in at google “paid text links” then you see 10 advertisers for it…

so it is ok for Google to take that money although it apparently corrupts the google index??

doesnt make sense to me other then it is all about the money…

Do affiliate links count as “paid? I have Amazon links on my book reviews, which bring in commissions. I also provide the links because they’re useful to people, but I doubt I’d have them there if I didn’t get sales commissions. (Many of the books I review are obscure enough that Amazon has no reviews, and less accessible bibliographic information than I can provide myself.)

So should I “rel=nofollow” my Amazon links?

I found this blog very helpful and read many articles. I was looking for something that i could not find and i would like to ask you.

My website had a Google PageRank of 6 that decreased to 5 during recent update of page ranks by google.

I want to know that what should i do to make my page rank increased instead of decreasing it?

Moreover, what factors might have effected my site's page rank? If you can indicate some factors, i may avoid them in future. And if there is something that i can do to improve my page rank, please tell me.

This is a good thing. Hopefully it will clear up some of the corruption of dmoz. I think a lot of people are getting sick of it.

It's funny, Google penalizes link-sellers, whom i dislike as well, but promotes sites like Dmoz which has no value what-so-ever...lol... Wow Google, way to set those standards!

Business directories actually used by human searchers are easy to distinguish and should be rewarded.

-Eg. Yellowpages, superpages, 411...

But, useless sites like Dmoz are ranked higher and actually used by google directory. It's like saying that yahoo directory is a valuable reference. Ummm, no, Yahoo sells links. Yahoo Dir is a paid link site.

Is DMOZ really important anymore? Don’t the other ways to get high PR backlinks outwigh the importance of the DMOZ dinosaur?
That being said, if BOTW does a re-vamp of DMOZ, and makes it easier to get admitted, I will welcome it.
