Tatango Unleashes RSS Syndication

Tatango rolled out a new beta feature ‘RSS Syndication’ that I think is perfect for bloggers. This new feature allows users to send an automated text summary of their latest post to all members of their Tatango group.

The text message alert will start off with the first sentence of the post followed by a link to the post, aimed at increasing blog traffic.

Worried that your readers don’t have their own blog? No worries, they can enter their favorite RSS feeds to receive updates sent directly to their cell.

It’s really quite easy to set up. Go to your group, click ‘Advanced‘, then click on ‘Syndications‘.

RSS Syndications

Click ‘New Syndication‘, and you’ll be given a field in which to put the URL of your RSS feed.

RSS Syndication Details

Click ‘Save‘, and the next time your RSS feed updates, a message will be sent to your entire group with as much of your post as it can fit in a single SMS, followed by a link to the rest of the post!
