Belvedere Vodka, together with BuyYourFriendADrink, launches of the new “Buy Your Friend A Belvedere” application on Facebook Platform. This marks the first time a “real life” cocktail can be purchased via the popular social networking site.

Using the new “Buy Your Friend A Belvedere” (BYFAB) facebook application, consumers can purchase Belvedere Vodka cocktails for their friends without ever having to leave Facebook. To do so, the over-21 crowd can just authorize the BYFAB application for their Facebook profile and select the friends for whom they want to buy the luxury spirit, along with the dollar amount they want to spend.

Then, it’s just a matter of selecting the delivery method – either via text messaging their friend’s phone or a gift card to their home. Recipients can redeem their gift message for a Belvedere drink at their favorite local bar or restaurant that is part of the BYFAB network.

This innovative twist on gift-giving comes right in time for the holidays. The perfect present for the over-21 set, cocktail gift cards and texts can be redeemed at venues nationwide including: Wetbar and Katra in New York; Club 720 in Chicago; Felt Club in Boston. All participating venues are listed on the Buy Your Friend a Belvedere application page on Facebook.

In addition to cocktail options and an overview of participating locations, the “Buy Your Friend a Belvedere” application features visuals from Belvedere’s “Luxury Reborn” advertising campaign, photographed by Terry Richardson, allowing visitors to further immerse themselves in the Belvedere experience.

BuyYourFriendADrink is a new online social gift service that gives consumers the opportunity to instantly buy someone real drinks at bars or restaurants. BuyYourFriendADrink gift certificates, sent by email, hard gift card and mobile text messaging, are currently redeemable at a proprietary network of over 300 popular bars and restaurants.
