Red Herring awarded Nimbuzz with the prestigious Global 100 award as one of the Top 100 tech-startups in the world. This prestigious awards program honors the top 100 private technology companies in the world. Nimbuzz is now growing at around 20,000 new users every day and is the first aggregated mobile messenger company worldwide to ever receive this award.
The winners were announced at the Red Herring Global 2008, held on January 14-16, 2009 in San Diego, California. Out of 1,800 successful, eligible companies, the Red Herring editorial team deployed a detailed process to drill-down to the best companies first to 200 finalists, then to the top 100 winners of this global award. Evaluations were made on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, innovation, management, global strategy, and ecosystem integration.
Nimbuzz was also nominated for the Mobile Monday Peer Awards 2009 to be annouced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. 163 startups participated and 42 nominees were selected by each chapter in the Mobile Mondays global network. An international Jury will now select the 20 finalists to present at the Peer Awards event in Barcelona. The finalists will be announced on January 26.
