CommunityOne Open Developer Conference Comes to New York City

CommunityOne - Open Developer ConferenceCommunityOne East is a two-day event that will bring together developers, students and technologists to focus on open source innovation and implementation. The conference programs are the result of a public call for papers and will offer more than 30 sessions led by contributors of dozens of open source and community projects such as MySQL, GlassFish, JavaFX, OpenSolaris, NetBeans, Groovy, PHP, Apache, Android and more.

CommunityOne conference, slated for March 18-19, 2008, at the Marriott Marquis in New York City. Growing in popularity since its launch in San Francisco in 2007, this is the first time CommunityOne will be held on the East coast. There is no charge to attend CommunityOne on Wednesday, March 18. So, readers who’ve made a daily ritual of perusing obituaries with their morning coffee – and who won’t go out to buy the paper or go online – aren’t necessarily going to learn about the deaths of their acquaintances.

Introducing Yahoo! Mobile – Your Personalized Starting Point to the Internet

Yahoo! announced the upcoming launch of its new Yahoo Mobile service, a highly-personalized mobile starting point to the Internet.

Yahoo Mobile will be available on the mobile Web, as an app developed for the Apple iPhone, and as an app developed for smartphones from Nokia, RIM, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and Motorola as well as those powered by Windows Mobile. Yahoo Mobile initially will be available today through a managed beta program, with general availability expected in Q2 2009.
