With DVDs and Blu-ray discs getting cheaper and cheaper, most people have a large movie collection. Sometimes it can be difficult to keep track of the movies you actually have. That’s where veedemus comes into play. It allows you to easily manage your movie collection.
veedemus uses a large index containing most of the movies that are available in the USA. In addition to that veedemus also has an index for movies released in the UK and in Germany.
Once you have added some movies you can see them on the collection page. The collection page allows you to order the movies by title, year, or the date you have last watched them. To get an even better overview over the movies you have you can add tags to every movie. Tags give you an easy way to categorize your movie collection. You could for example use a ‘vampire’ tag for movies like Dracula and such or you could use a ‘paris’ tag for all your movies that play in Paris.
If your friends are also using veedemus, you can add them to your friends list. After your friend confirms your request on his friends page you can view your friend’s collections, their tags and friends. It is then also possible to choose them from a dropdown in the lending dialog so you don’t have to enter the names of the friends you lent your movies to.

They wanted veedemus to be as easy to use as possible – so you only need a Google account and then you can log into veedemus. For the profile image they use the Gravatar service. As a consequence there’s no need for a profile page.
