August 30th, 2009 by Social Guy

Twitter Tools

Any time there are thousands of people spending time on a website and millions of visitors, and common sense dictates that this traffic presents a matchless opportunity for generating revenues. Any savvy marketer should be able to see that Twitter, which is fast emerging as a major Internet phenomenon, presents just such an opportunity. However, the new paradigm means that traditional sales and marketing techniques need to change radically, and some off the new twitter tools that will be necessary are described below:

General Twitter Tools :

  • Avoid spamming like the plague. People hate it, and you need your head examined if you think it is going to work for you
  • Ensure that you have completed all the relevant fields in the settings section.
  • Make sure that you will have a proper hyperlink for your URL
  • Complete the bio section properly so that it shows what kind of person you really are and what it is that you really do.

Specific Twitter Tools :

1) Bit.ly: One of the big selling points of Twitter is the brevity of each tweet which is limited to 140 characters. Since traditional URLs take up lots of space, this tool enables you to use an abbreviated URL. It also keeps track off how many clicks are generated on this abbreviated URL thus providing useful feedback on what is working.
