Twubs.com, a social media aggregator of Twitter, YouTube, TwitPic, RSS and other feeds around hashtags, introduces a new hashtag registry, which gives any user or organization the ability to register their hashtag(s) on the site. Registration allows a user to become the administrator of the Twub and provides increased protection against spam by blocking certain users or words.
Registering a #hashtag also prevents multiple uses of the hashtag, helps refine the conversation when entering a Twub, and makes it easier for users to find conversations relevant to their interests by hashtag type, such as company name, hobby, conference, church, event and others.
