eFans – Sports Social Network for Sports Fans

September 28th, 2009 by Social Guy

eFans

Social networking has quickly gone from buzzword to household term with popular sites like MySpace and Facebook taking off. If you are a sports fan you may have found yourself left in the dust as there haven’t been any online networks catering to your needs. With teams rosters and records changing every day, real sports fans need an easy place to stay in-the-know on sports news. Until now, there hasn’t been one location for fanatics to get all their news, chat with other fans and peruse the various video and photo content of their tried and true teams.

From this need, eFans emerged as the brainchild of Venice, California -based Stephan Maric, the founder and CEO.

eFans is a social network for sports fans worldwide to come together in one location and connect over the love for a team or athlete. Fanatics from across the globe can use eFans as a one-stop-shop to do everything from chat about the latest wins and losses to watch video clips of their favorite athletes or sports moments and share the latest news about their team.

This vast network was created for the sole purpose of connecting users and fans with their favorite athletes, sports teams and fellow fans. Users can easily signup for an eFans account and customize their profile based on their preferred teams and personalities.

Since launching in September 2007, eFans hasn’t had an offseason to revamp the eFans experience for users but recently the site took some time to re-design and update features to create a better user experience. It added Facebook Connect, which allows eFans users to share their content quickly and easily across a variety of social networks. Additionally, eFans has added Twitter integration to the site, which allows users to directly update their Twitter feeds from the homepage. There is also a separate real-time feed for site visitors and instant chatting functionality allows individual users to connect with each other directly.

In the works for next season, eFans will be adding new features based on fans’ needs, like fantasy sports as well as sports memorabilia / souvenir shop and tickets.

eFans engages those who are truly passionate about sports and want to share that passion with the world.
