Brazen Careerist : Career Management for Next-Generation Professionals

October 14th, 2009 by Social Guy

Brazen Careerist

If you’re a self-starting, young professional with little experience – but plenty of big ideas – than BrazenCareerist.com is the place to be. In a competitive job market where experienced professionals win, they’ve created a community that levels the playing field.

Create a profile on Brazen that showcases more than just your resume. Then follow real-time updates from other members and begin to build a network through conversation: the way networking is supposed to happen.

Brazen recently launched a Twitter integration tool that allows members to share tweets they deem “professional” with their Brazen Careerist fans. By providing a Twitter ID. on Brazen Careerist and adding a hashtag—#Brazen—to their tweets, members can share Twitter content that they deem professional with their Brazen Careerist network. Twitter is quickly becoming a practical tool for career management. While the demand for career sites to integrate Twitter is becoming more apparent, few (if any) have taken the plunge, including LinkedIn. Brazen is one of the first career-based networks taking strides towards harnessing its abilities for their members.

  • I'm not sure hiring managers are going to utilize peer evaluations of young professionals--especially on social networking sites--when considering them for employment. Do you?
  • Hi Eric,

Brazen Careerist is not based on peer evaluations. What we do is help our members build the professional networks they need to meet their career goals.

The key difference between us and LinkedIn is that LinkedIn is a place to display your professional network. We give our members a place to build their network.

Does that make sense to you?
