The social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook are costing British businesses £ 1.38 billion per year in lost time, according to a survey conducted by a British IT services and technology company, which found that workers admitted to spend 40 minutes a week on the sites.

Philip Wicks, consultant at Morse, the IT services and technology company which commissioned the survey, said – “When someone is asked for their own use they say around 40 minutes a week, but when asked about their colleagues they say they say up to an hour a day. We have used the lower of those figures rather than the high point.”

I think that there is something in this. I know I work with someone who has facebook on from the time he starts work till the time he leaves. I can believe that this is very good for his work and its not he spend far too much time on it. Yea time and place yea dinner time 5 mins here and there but nothing more.

True. It costs in billions of dollars. But then, isn't social networking supposed to create a revolution???
