Yahoo! Extends Facebook Integration

Continuing its commitment to be the center of people’s online lives, Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) announced further integration with Facebook that unites social experiences from across the Web to provide a place for consumers to enjoy meaningful content and stay in touch with the people they care about most.

Yahoo!’s Facebook Connect integration will give consumers richer experiences on Yahoo!, including in Yahoo! Mail and on properties like Yahoo! News, Yahoo! Sports, and Yahoo! Finance. It will enable them to connect with Facebook friends on Yahoo!, view a feed of their friends’ related activity on Yahoo!, and share content – such as photos from Flickr or comments on news stories – with all of their friends on Facebook. The content that consumers share with Facebook friends will then create a loop that drives visitors back to Yahoo!. (more…)

Is Buying a FarmVille Secret Guide Worth It?

I have to admit, I was pretty skeptical when I first started seeing FarmVille secret guides popping up. I mean, I’d never really played the game, but from the name I assumed there couldn’t be all that much to it. After all, how much strategy could possibly go into building a virtual farm? But once I started seeing these guides, I figured it’d be worth taking a shot at the game to see what all the hubbub could possibly be about.

And I was actually rather surprised. Building my own virtual farm was much more enjoyable than I’d imagined it would be. Part of that was because there really were a lot of options and a lot of decisions to make. The more I played the game, the more I realized that there probably could be a lot of helpful information in a guide because there were just too many ways you could play. (more…)

New Facebook Privacy Settings – What About Photos?

Facebook is rolling out new privacy settings so users can control who sees each individual piece of content created or uploaded, but what about untagged photos? If a friend uploads a photo of you but does not tag it, you may not even know it’s there.
