I chatted last night with Jonathan Eppers, Founder and President of FirstString, the first online community to cater to high school athletics on a local level, has the unique ability to automatically connect athletes within the same divisions and conferences – allowing instant access to known teammates, opponents and friends. He talked to me about his startup FirstString’s opportunities, practices and future.
Me : Please tell our readers about your background and your role in the ‘FirstString.com’?

A former multi-sport high school athlete and Product Manager for MySpace, I understand both the perspective of an athlete and the requirements for building a strong social community. Ultimately I oversee the entire product development for FirstString as I truly believe a feature rich design that is customized for athletes will help grow the site fast. In addition I devote a good amount of time to business development in ensuring our grass-roots (bottoms-up) marketing plan is constantly coming up with new ideas.
